Conscious Sedation For Nervous Patients

Don’t be worried!

We can provide a variety of techniques to help you relax and work with you to make sure that you are comfortable. Our clinicians pride themselves on their patient care and use the latest techniques to provide effective solutions such as conscious sedation procedures.

Many of our practices offer intravenous sedation, that is the use of drugs through a needle in a vein (a drip) which makes you feel relaxed and less anxious. The drugs may actually make you sleep, but not too deeply.

IV sedation tends to be the method of choice if you don’t want to be aware of the procedure due to complete amnesia. Patients receiving IV sedation rarely experience discomfort and the treatment relaxes the muscles.

After conscious sedation dentistry, you will require someone to take you home, and you will need to rest quietly for the remainder of the day. You must avoid driving, operating any machinery which carry a risk of injury, drinking alcohol or signing important documents for 24 hours after sedation.
