Composite Bonding

Our patients at Together Dental love composite bonding treatments as they can make cosmetic improvements to a smile so quickly.  The composite resin is expertly applied and moulded by your skilled dentist to match the colour of your teeth, creating a natural and beautiful result. Transforming your smile and boosting your confidence.

The treatment is quick and can be carried out in a single visit to the dental practice. Unlike some of the alternatives, such as crowns or veneers, composite bonding is a non-invasive procedure.

It does not require your dentists to remove part of the tooth. The structure of the tooth remains intact and will not be damaged.

Composite bonding treatments can offer solutions for filling chips, cracks or gaps between teeth, or even for fixing discolouration, offering a smile makeover. Ask your dentist to see how composite bonding could help you.

Why choose Dental Composite Bonding?

It’s a quick and effective way to fix minor cosmetic issues. The composite resin is hardened using UV light as soon as it’s applied, resulting in a tooth that you can comfortably bite down by the end of the appointment.

Our patient wanted improve her already beautiful smile. Our South Benfleet dentist Kiran Mattu used composite bonding treatment to give her the dream flawless smile she always wanted.

This patient was always concerned about his teeth. We used a combination of Invisalign to straighten the teeth, followed by teeth whitening and composite bonding to give him a brighter, sparkling smile.

What Is The Composite Teeth Bonding Treatment Process?

Your tooth will then be prepared for treatment by slightly roughening the surface. It will then be coated with a liquid which helps the resin to adhere smoothly.

Your dentist will select a resin colour that exactly matches your tooth, so that the composite bond looks 100% natural.

The resin is applied and molded into the required shape. UV light is used to harden the resin before it is shaped again and polished by your dentist. When finished it will match the rest of the tooth.

Many of our patients choose to have a smile makeover which includes composite bonding. Ask your dentist for more information.

How do I care for my composite bonding?

We recommend that you:

  • Avoid biting nails or chewing items such as pen lids, which may chip the material. Bonds aren’t quite as strong as a normal tooth so it’s important to take precautions to avoid damage.
  • Avoid tea, coffee, smoking and food which may stain for at least 48 hours after yuor proceedure.
  • Brush your teeth often and see the hygienist regularly to maintain good oral health. This will help your composite bond stay clean and unstained.

With careful maintenance your composite bond will last for many years.

Combine composite bonding with teeth whitening

Composite bonding is often used alongside teeth whitening treatments, to help you achieve a whiter and more even smile.

Your dentist will typically recommend that you have any teeth whitening treatments before your composite bonds. The composite resin will be selected to exactly match your teeth colour, so it is advisable to get them to your preferred shade before treatment for bonding begins.

Once the composite bond has been placed, it is not possible to change the shade or make it whiter.
